Hello everyone.

I bought a used Audi A6 from the year 2005, with a 1.9 TDI engine and 141,000 kilometers on the odometer, two weeks ago.
At a speed of approximately 70-80 km/h, you can hear noticeable wind noise coming from the trunk area or the headliner. What could this be? Can anyone help me?

Best regards,
Martin

Hey Snoopy!

Is that an A4 Avant? Does it have a sunroof? Any accidents or prior damage (check the panel gaps!)?
Unfortunately, descriptions of sounds like this are always very subjective and therefore problematic.
Are you absolutely sure that it's actually wind noise and not sounds coming from the chassis (wheel bearings, etc.)?

Best regards from Munich!

It's an Avant model and he hasn't had any accidents. The panel gaps are also correct, and it doesn't have a sunroof.
I know it's always hard to describe, but it really sounds like a whistling noise. It disappears again above 80 km/h. If it were a wheel bearing, wouldn't it sound more like a grinding noise?

I got new winter tires yesterday, and I thought they would be quieter... how is that possible?
