"Can anyone provide me with a coding overview for my vehicle's body control module (BCM)? I want to activate the original auxiliary heater, but unfortunately, the commonly shared code in byte 4, bit 0 doesn't work. It would also be interesting to know where the activation time and delay of the SRA (likely referring to a specific system or function) are located. Again, the overview that is often found online seems incorrect."

For my background information: What can you see now through the Autoscan?

According to the documentation, an original stand heater is not installed, so it makes little sense to activate it. Since an aftermarket device has been installed, no unlocking within the vehicle's network/body control module (BCM) is necessary.

However, the vehicle should be equipped with an original heating system (including all original wiring and related components).
Therefore, I would like to know beforehand whether I can unlock the FIS menu and everything else, and whether the heating system can be completely integrated.

If anyone has a coding overview here... where can I get one? Can Audi retrieve this information with the push of a button, or do they have to access it online via a diagnostic tool connected to the vehicle?
Is there something like that available at erwin-online? Specifically, for the exact vehicle network control unit I have?

As I mentioned before... I would like to order some parts of the STH, but until I have tested the coding, the risk of failure is too high for me.

For us, it looks similar; no one will randomly pick out codings without knowing what components were actually installed. In my opinion, the problem won't be with the codings themselves; so far, we have been able to get everything working.

Do you mean the parts list within the CAN gateway? And is it also through the parts list that the menu in the FIS (Instrument Cluster) is activated?

I already tried enabling the STH in the parts list, but the menu didn't appear.

The device list is like a directory, and the gateway acts as the postman. To ensure that all participants are included, the control units are registered. This allows messages to find their correct destination. However, for the menu to appear/function correctly, the head unit (SH) must also be present because it sends the content.

I wouldn't call this an experiment. You can find the necessary parts in a catalog or purchase compatible used parts, and then you shouldn't have any problems – at least none that are unsolvable. You're not the first person to do this kind of retrofit, perhaps not specifically on this model, but ultimately it shouldn't be an extremely difficult process.

The overview you're referring to is generally correct, but it doesn't apply to your specific vehicle or model year. Basically, everything known about the 8P/8J models up to and including model year 2009 should be disregarded. Instead, you should refer to the data and information related to the Golf 6.

Regarding the SRA (Steering Rack Assist), the activation times and delay are no longer adjustable through coding or adaptation; they are now hard-coded based on current knowledge, meaning neither VCDS nor VAS can modify them. This is likely intentional, following instances where many users have altered settings that are either legally prohibited or at least questionable.
