I'm in a difficult situation and hope you can help me again! We're planning a vacation on Saturday, so I've also purchased and installed a GRA spare parts kit. The Golf IV 2002 with ARL TDI had been running perfectly up until that point, starting immediately every time.
I have completed everything according to the instructions, then I released the GRA in the MSTG and of course, I wanted to go for a test drive...
Key on, indicator light comes on, starter engages, relay 167 clicks approximately every half-second - the car simply won't start!? The WFS symbol is not lit, but it sounds like the PDE is not actually injecting diesel.
The fuel pump is running normally after the ignition is switched on. I have checked all the fuses and none of them appear to be blown. The fault memory is empty.
Everything disassembled again, the GRA cable harness plugged into the steering column (I thought maybe something was misconnected, but it wasn't) - the car still doesn't work...
All plugs checked, appears to be okay...
I really don't know what's going on there now? The voltage at the MSTG was 10.9 volts - but the starter is not turning weakly or noticeably slowly - could this still be the cause?
I'm just going to charge the battery, but I honestly don't think it's the car's voltage... I haven't had the ignition on much, and not even the radio...
I'm really lost - please help!
Thank you and best regards.
Alex

Description:
Golf IV ARL does not start after GRA modification.
In case of emergency, disconnect the coolant temperature sensor (the double sensor).
This, however, results in an error entry, but it also occurs even with lower
Starting RPM (basically from 0) Fuel allowed.
I see a thief tampering with the pedal switch on the last picture.
But that's not precise, the TDI's are a bit sensitive, what díe
Pedal switch is on. Normally, the cables for the GRA should also be neatly soldered there.
- Take a look at the MSTG's MWB,
{QUESTION} whether the signals from the two pedal switches are all clean.
...if not
...Check pedals and connectors/power tap
Do the signals come when operating the individual functions on the GRA lever?
...if not
... have you also correctly identified the pins on the main connector of the MSTG?
Just a way to start a testing routine
Good luck

Hi Alex,
A clicking sound and, above all, a flickering of the pre-ignition light is not normal.
Installing the GRA system is not a magic trick - however, I would still like to check if you have the
managed to grab the right connectors - especially on that darn handover connector.
to the engine compartment (not the one that landed in the wrong compartment).
I'm not sure if the 2002 model already has the improved relay 109.
installed. I would remove and inspect it. It is possible that
the circuit board around the contacts has been torn.
If that's the case, either repair or replace.
As a test, you can also bridge the relay and see if it then turns on.
It will likely depend on a causal factor in your renovation. You either did something wrong, created a short circuit somewhere, or accidentally bumped into or touched something while working. Please check everything carefully, check the relay box, and maybe also look at the other newly installed components. Then it will work. If you remove and move the fuse box and relay tray on a vehicle after many years, it is quite possible that this movement will cause a connection to come loose.
Okay, so viel ich verstehe: the connector of the GRA or the connector in the water tank has nothing to do with the motor start itself, right?
I previously disconnected the battery during the steering wheel removal, but then reconnected it temporarily to listen to the radio...
Could the MSTG have been affected somehow? All the fuses seem to be okay... It can therefore theoretically only be due to the diesel supply from the PDE to the combustion chamber, I guess!
The car had been running perfectly up until that point, with full power and normal fuel consumption!
I will disconnect the fuel supply hose today and check how much fuel is coming out...
Relay 109 - I'm trying to bridge - which contacts do I need to bridge? I don't have a schematic...
