Hi,

I have a 2009 Passat with a 2.0 CR engine that needs to be replaced due to metal shavings in the high-pressure pump.
The engine needs to be removed from the front, but the exhaust bracket is now obstructing the final section. VW RLF says: Remove the engine mount with the steering rack. Is there a trick to remove the engine without having to remove the steering rack?

Are you building something together with Getriebe?

A picture of the problematic part would definitely be helpful.

Hi,

Yes, with a gearbox. I've now found the solution: Remove the exhaust with DOF, disconnect the driveshaft, and detach the DPF.

I'll continue on Friday, and I'll let you know.

Hi,

So, the expansion worked out back then:

1) Remove the clamp between the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) and the exhaust manifold.
2) Engine and transmission facing forward.

The DPF could therefore remain installed on the vehicle.
