Performance Logs: How to Create and Use Them

Hello everyone,

I would like to have a power measurement performed on a Golf 7 and a Passat B8 using KPower. Since both vehicles have the UDS protocol, I can only evaluate the extended measurement values.
How do I do this? Because the KPower manual says it should be read using the standard measurements, not the advanced ones.

Hi,

You need the motor speed and velocity; the timestamps are already in the log.
Then, when importing into KPower, make sure the column names are correct, and that's it.

- Click "Start" and go.
- After the ride, click "Stop".
- Open KPower and open the file from the measurement run.

It's something like that . See the instructions that come with the KPower.
You can simply upload the log file here, so we can check if that's correct.

This time, the file was saved, but after I click "Import log file," I get a message saying that either insufficient measurement data or column labels were not found.

The following data were recorded: engine speed (revolutions per minute) and vehicle speed (kilometers per hour).
The following settings are available in the KPower settings:
Separator: Comma.
Column name for time: STAMM.
Column name for motor speed: /min.
Column name for speed: km/h.

Where is my mistake?

Here are the logs from a VW Eos, using data blocks 5 and 6, and everything was working perfectly.
And from the Passat, with the values for speed and engine RPM.

The column for time ("MARKER") didn't have a unit assigned; just enter something like "s" there, and also do the same for the KPower settings, and it should work.

Please find the corresponding .kpm file attached, which currently uses the standard vehicle weight (which still needs to be adjusted).

It worked! Thank you! As you said, the columns were incorrect.

I probably need to take another measurement now.
I only have a vague recollection of all the settings related to vehicle weight and the rest. And that's how I got "only" 145 hp instead of 190. After 50,000 km? I find that hard to believe.

Okay, I've now taken the new measurement. I've taken the data as accurately as possible. Yes, even the driver's weight .
I left the rolling circumference at 1.00 because my tires are the same as the ones listed on the car's documentation.

And there it was: 176 horsepower. The measurement was taken as instructed, in 3rd gear. Is it possible that 14 horsepower are already missing, despite the relatively small engine displacement?
