Polo 9n fog lights turn on with ignition

Hello. I hope someone can help me. On my father's Polo, the fog lights are turning on when the ignition is turned on, even without pressing the switch. The switch is in the "off" position. The car has daytime running lights. Is that related to it?

I checked the fuse box. The tfl pin was connected. That didn't help. The nsw light still comes on when the ignition is on. I disconnected the pin for the nsw. Then it turns off. So, the electricity comes from the switch.

Is this necessary because of the daytime running lights? Or is the switch defective? Please help.

It's possible that the switch is faulty. Do you have the option of trying a different switch to test? It would also be helpful to run a diagnostic check via the OBD interface. Then you can at least see the error messages, if there are any.
