Caddy 2.0 SDI: Faulty ECU? Diagnose & Repair.

I have a friend's Caddy here with the 2.0 SDI BST engine that won't start.
The preheating lamp is not working.
No errors found in memory.
Measurement blocks are always labeled "n.v."

In the control unit for the dashboard module, there was a message indicating no communication with the engine control unit. I unfortunately didn't perform an auto-scan.

I don't think the engine control unit (ECU) is defective, because the diagnostic system works and there are no error codes stored.

The voltage fluctuations in your vehicle's electrical system are erratic. I would start by addressing that issue. Furthermore, there are several indications of problems within the vehicle's electrical system or wiring issues.

I am concerned that in some tax devices, the limit of the supply voltage is being exceeded, while in others it is falling below the required level.
I cleared all the error codes, turned off the ignition, briefly interrupted the power, and then turned it back on to immediately perform this car scan.

It is very unusual for nothing to be displayed in the extended measurement data blocks.
Have you ever looked at the tuning data stored in the engine control unit, or even other measured values? Not all of them provide meaningful information.

The control unit is equipped with the original data set.
I've tested all the measurement values, but it always displays "n.v." (not available). I know that with the Caddy 2K, you can also check additional information under the normal measurement value blocks, but that's not possible here because those sections are grayed out.

"Always on" is not normal. Is there really power supplied to all the supply voltage pins of the engine control unit? It seems more like a kind of "control unit overrun" rather than normal operation.

Okay, I've checked the power supply now and I think everything is fine.
When the ignition is turned on, pins 3, 5, 6, and 18 are powered with 12V.

Based on the numerous "not reachable" entries, I suspect there may be wiring harness issues with the CAN drive.

Shouldn't the engine at least start or have the preheating light illuminate, even if there's a problem with the wiring harness of the CAN drive?
Does the engine control unit still communicate via the K-line in vehicles with the 2K system?

The CAN comfort system can communicate via a single wire even with a cable problem on one side. The CAN driver, for safety reasons, cannot. The K-line was originally intended only for data related to emissions. Unfortunately, I cannot say exactly how many measurement values could be achieved using it.

Was attempted to give the vehicle a jump start with reversed polarity by chance?
