Hello everyone,

I'm new here.
I'm currently having problems with my 2.0 TDI Sharan.
Here's a brief overview of what happened.
A while ago, the particulate filter warning light came on, so I drove onto the highway, and the light went off.
About a week later, it started working again, but shortly after that, the engine diagnostic light came on, along with the heating element.
Error read, regeneration time exceeded. Regeneration not possible.

Took the car to the workshop because the lights suddenly stopped working. The diagnostic scan didn't show any errors, but the particulate filter still has approximately 90,000 km of life left.
About a week later, the particulate filter warning light came on again.
Shortly after, he was again elected as a member of the state parliament and became involved with "Glühwendel" (a specific organization or project - context needed for accurate translation).
Immediately read out the VW data.
The particulate filter is full and needs to be forced into regeneration mode.
I eventually got fed up with it, and since we now have two vehicles from the Volkswagen Group at home, I bought a VCDS.
And a forced regeneration was performed.
The problem is that the calibration blocks are not working for me.
Also nur erw. Measurements.
Calculate the amount. The protein content was approximately 12g.
After approximately 2 weeks, the particulate filter lamp came on again.

One day later, Member of the State Parliament...
Re-read, 19, 9g.
Regenerated again.
Approximately 1.5 grams.

Can someone please help me?
The 20g aren't full.
Are there any other values I can check?
Perhaps one of the differential pressure sensors is damaged.
What is the maximum allowable differential pressure?

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Hello,

Without a diagnostic system, you will have difficulty making progress here.

First of all, I would check the "health" of the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter). You can find comparison values here:
Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) ash mass, comparison values
Differential pressure DPF, comparison values
We can only speculate as to why the regeneration process took so long for you. It could be due to a very unsuitable driving profile (frequent short trips) or a defect in the EGR valve, throttle body, intercooler system, or one of the temperature sensors on the turbocharger or DPF.
DPF regeneration problems

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello Rainer,

I have VCDS.
Is that sufficient as a diagnostic tool?
To check a few measurements.
And to be able to narrow down a possible cause?
I've only ever worked with gasoline-powered engines so far, and therefore...
My experience with diesel engines isn't really extensive.
To change that, I signed up here icon_biggrin.gif.
We've had the car for almost 5 years, and for about 2 years...
The same driving profile.
Federal Road (Country Road) 3/5.
With a little bit of city2/5.
So far, no problems.

Yes, of course, VCDS is sufficient to narrow down the cause of the error. Have you already read the articles linked by Rainer and do you have any specific questions about them?

If you could also do us a favor and enter your VCDS serial number into your profile, it will be visible to other forum members that you are using a legitimate version of VCDS, and accordingly, the support you receive will change.

The problem persists.

After approximately 1-2 weeks, everything starts to light up and the system goes into emergency mode.
My first question to help me understand.
The weight is approximately 60 grams.
Start the regeneration process only when a specific value is reached.
Or just in between?
Today, I calculated that the black carbon mass was approximately 13 grams when the emergency system activated.
That seems like very little to me.
Now, after the burn-in process, I'm at 0.45.
And the measured value was -7.28.
Is the measured value -7?
Not at all realistic.
The differential pressure before the regeneration stage is 25 hPa.
Then, 6 hPa.
Are there any other metrics I can check to get closer to solving the problem?
Where exactly do I need to enter the VCDS number?

Thank you in advance for your answers and any further information.

Hi,

Please provide an Autoscan.

Best regards, Rainer.
