Tiguan 12/2016, Towing Hitch Error

I have installed an AHK (trailer hitch) on a Tiguan R-Line, manufactured in December 2016, with a 2.0 TDI engine and DSG transmission.
The manufacturer is Westfalia, but while "Jäger" is printed on the power socket, "Trailtec" is printed on the control unit.
I still have some errors in a few control units.

Everything works on the trailer, except that when a trailer is attached to the vehicle, the rear fog light on the vehicle does not turn off.

Is my VCDS interface too old (HEX-USB+CAN)?

In combination with the error "no communication with trailer control unit," I would strongly recommend checking the wiring again.

First, clear all the errors and see what comes back. Also, the issue with the tailgate control unit might be caused by incorrect wiring (which could be interfering with the CAN bus).

While the HEX-USB+CAN may not be able to detect all errors with all control units (there is a VCDS upgrade option), it should not matter for your specific situation.

I can't look inside the multifunction control unit.

I saw in some videos that the rear fog light was specifically coded to 09.

Okay, I've checked all the control units so far, except for the (multi-) one.
and 4B and CF.

I need to check all the cables again, and I think I'm going to upgrade the interface.

I suspect the rear fog light isn't switching because the vehicle or the module being programmed doesn't recognize a trailer. Have you registered the trailer hitch as installed in coding channel 0019? It's possible that you need to change "Connection of trailer socket" to "installed" in adaptation channel 0009 (login 31347). (I'm not sure if this applies to this vehicle, so it's always a good idea to save all previous codings as a precaution.)
You'll almost certainly need to code the lane change assist feature; I don't think it's controlled by the multifunction control unit.

But first, as already mentioned, check the wiring. It's very easy to overlook something.
