VCDS - Some options are missing under Basic Settings

Hello everyone,

I have two questions regarding VCDS.

1. When I connect my Passat 1.9 TDI AHH to the VCDS using the basic settings, options like "Check Turbocharger Pressure Regulation" or "Check Exhaust Gas Recirculation" or "Activate Fuel Pump" are missing. Is this because my car is old and these options are not available for this vehicle in the VCDS?


2. and another question, although I have already found some information here in the forum, I would like to ask it again for clarification.

Do I understand correctly that I cannot get the diagram to work with Windows 10 and a 32-bit system?

The AGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) and LAFED (Low-Pressure Fuel) control function test is essentially performed in the basic settings mode of the engine control unit (ECU) MWB 3 and 10 or 11, which you can see.

There's nothing to hire.

Yes, I'm using 32-bit, and I'm generally satisfied with the SSD hard drive. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad SL510 laptop and I'm very happy with it.

The question remains, however, whether the diagram also runs under 32-bit and Win10. Has anyone had experience with this?

Do I understand correctly that these options are not available for older models like my Passat, but that the functional test still works if I select MWB11?

intended were these here options: VTG initial setup, Turbo check, Turbocharger boost control, LDR, VTG exercise

It would be sensible to update your VCDS first (parallel installation possible), download see customer account. Your version is very outdated.

The previous image wasn't mine, it was from YouTube, which made me curious because I don't have those options on my own system. Here's a Screenshot of my current VCDS, which shows that my software is up-to-date, and I only have one option available. Therefore, my question is whether this is due to the age of the vehicle?

Why can't I press "Start"? Or is it already running?
After typing in the 11 and pressing Enter or clicking Up/Down?

My AFN system is also not working anymore, regardless of which car it's installed in. I suspect that the control unit from 1996 simply can't handle it.

Maybe I'm also confusing it with the actuator test, I'm 100% sure that AGR and boost pressure actuators are testable.

But everything should be found here in the instructions and articles.

Our current cars are much newer, so things are naturally different.
