Stubborn brake disc (Solution)

During the necessary brake maintenance on the Golf 7, the disc on the front left side proved extremely difficult to remove. Usually, after removing the retaining screw, brake discs should come loose from the hub with a few taps of a plastic hammer in the area around the center. However, nothing worked - tapping with the plastic hammer, attempts to rotate it on the hub, and applying rust remover overnight were all unsuccessful.Finally, I used a method of pushing from the inside, as shown in the second picture (thanks to an unknown mechanic for the idea). A screw was inserted through the hole for the brake caliper bracket in the wheel bearing housing, a nut was used for support, and a plate was used to apply pressure. This worked easily without much force. The disc was stuck on the centering ring of the hub.
It's working again now.

Hello everyone,

I have had very good experiences with anti-seize paste (from W..., also available as a spray).
Before installing the brake disc, apply a thin layer of anti-seize compound to the centering ring. This will make it much easier to remove the disc next time by allowing it to almost fall off when the mounting screws are loosened.
In other areas as well, where weather conditions and/or temperature fluctuations promote the seizing of connections (e.g., exhaust manifold studs, manifold screws, oxygen sensors),...
Schrauben durch die Metallhülsen von Fahrwerkslagern, Befestigung der unteren Motorverkleidung etc.), leistet die Paste gute Dienste.

A thin layer of copper assembly paste has successfully prevented the rotor from seizing onto the hub for me for years.
