Can I retrofit a Ford Focus Ghia TDCi with a new onboard computer?

Now, let's move on to a question unrelated to VW.

The BC (presumably a 'Black Box' or 'Event Data Recorder') is standardly fitted on a 'Focus Ghia exclusiv' model. However, I have a standard 'Ghia' model and it's not present. Does anyone know if it's possible to simply retrofit this BC by plugging it in (similar to how it's possible with, for example, the Golf III TDI)? The probability is quite high that all the cables are already in place. Must I consider something else?

The car is from the year 2003.
