Good morning, everyone.

This morning I updated VCDS on my computer, and after running the connection test, I'm getting a message that the CAN bus is not ready.

So far, VCDS has always worked without any problems.

Do you have any advice for me?

Was the interface connected to a vehicle with CAN communication via the OBD2 connector during the interface testing, and was the ignition turned on?

Thank you for your reply.
The ignition was on, and it was also plugged into the OBD2 port. But I'm not 100% sure if the Polo 9N3 is a vehicle that uses CAN bus technology.

Your classic car should use the K-Line for diagnostics.
VCDS on classic cars, compatibility

Recognizable by the red stripe, specifically for the Polo 9N model.

I've now connected VCDS to a newer vehicle again and performed the connection test. This time, the CAN test was also successful!

Now that the configuration is complete, I can also read data from my old device again – which wasn't working before.

But I probably made a mistake somewhere else.
