Hello!
My father has an Audi A3.
Essentially, it's a second car used for winter driving and errands.
First registration was in August 2003.

Recently, the power steering suddenly failed without any warning or signs.
It needs to be a fully electric steering system.
So far, I've checked all the fuses.
in the engine compartment, under the cover.
and also on the side of the dashboard.
Nothing unusual seen.
VCDS is unable to establish a connection with the steering assist control unit.
The rest of the car's data can be read out using the car scanner.
Currently, the car is on a lift.
At first glance, I didn't notice anything unusual.
"I haven't seen the connectors for the steering linkage yet."
I would probably have to remove a cover first, and then use a mirror to look.
Well, maybe someone with experience could write to me sometime.
what might be in store for my father.
and what happens next...
He would still like to continue using it.
The car is still in very good condition, both aesthetically, technically, and the interior is spotlessly clean.
Best regards,
Steffen! Grüße, Steffen!
