Hello,
I'm a bit lost right now.
(Admittedly, older Audis are more my area of expertise.)
Okay, here's the translation:
"An Audi A6 4B model from 2003 (manual transmission) has both Dual K-Line and CAN, correct?"
I have this interface here:
--> http://shop.dieselschrauber.de/vcds-obd2-pro-diagnosis-kkl-can-p-46.php
I can read data from engine control units (ECUs), window/door control modules, instrument clusters, and airbags.
(likely uses Dual-K and/or CAN?)
The other items apparently require an L-type cable.
ZV: Central locking
LWR: Heated rear window
Komfort-STG: Comfort control unit
RNS/D: Navigation system
I can't read this - why not?
Do I need to switch or connect anything so that the K2 line of the interface communicates with the L line?

Hello Dirk,
The interface should ideally cover everything from the Golf 3 generation onwards.
that has been released by VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda (plus some older items).
The L-Line designation should have disappeared from vehicles since the early 1990s (the last millennium).
Have you checked to see if all the fuses are in good condition?
What does a car scan report show when using the appropriate devices?

I honestly don't understand that statement because:
In the circuit diagram of the aforementioned. In vehicles (model year 2003), the L-line is indicated at the diagnostic connector (pin 15) with a green/blue wire.
and this also leads to various STGs, such as:
Climate control, multi-function steering wheel, central locking, tire pressure monitoring system, navigation system, radio, automatic headlight range control, and parking assistance.

Hello Dirk,
Originally, the diagnostic process required two lines (K and L) per control unit.
"K" stands for the actual communication, and "L" is used to initiate the diagnosis (another term for "L" is "stimulation").
Since the L-line is no longer needed, pin 15 is also not used (for this year's models).
a K-line (the second K in KKL).
The background is that the number of control units per K-line is limited.
Ideally, your interface should work seamlessly without any external intervention, even on...
to communicate with this line... or do you have a solution for operating with the old...
Audi (AAT and similar models - these still had an L line) might have something in the VCDS settings.
adapted?
Then, if necessary, reinstall VCDS in a separate branch, so that...
The system operates using default settings.

Is the designation "L-line" in the Audi wiring diagram incorrect?
Tried it again just now:
Now, strangely enough, it's working perfectly. |

Yes, you don't have an L-line for that; you have a second one. K-line. Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Rainer Kaufmann - dieselschrauber VCDS Shop |

The second "K" is only not present in the ISO9141 standard.
defined. Therefore, it continues to appear in the plans.

Thank you very much, very interesting.
Is there a place within VCDS where it's specified which control unit belongs to which K-segment (K or K2)?
(so that the software or adapter "knows" whether it should do the corresponding thing). Should the STG be addressed via pin 7 or pin 15?
or will everything simply be "scanned" sequentially, K, K2, CAN?
When I look at the " Autoscan.txt" file, it doesn't seem to be the case... (?)

Hello,
It simply queries both K-lines, and the respective control unit (with its corresponding address) then responds.

It's (actually) not necessary. The question is always asked on both lines, and because of that...
Each control unit address can only occur once in the vehicle, and therefore...
provide an answer. Logically speaking, one could say that the lines are...
parallel connected (which is not electrically correct, as the structure would then not be...)
The standard should be met, and the L-line function should not be available for older vehicles.
(which would be feasible).
Best regards,
Micha

I need to revisit this topic.
"On my RS6 4B, manufactured in 03/2003, I can only access the engine, transmission, brakes, airbag, and instrument cluster modules when the engine is running. Otherwise, there is no communication when the ignition is on!" Furthermore, I simply can't figure out things like, for example, the central control unit (35), headlight range adjustment, etc.!
The central control unit is probably acting up again. The remote central locking system is no longer working (and cannot be reprogrammed), the interior lighting is malfunctioning (even though the doors are being recognized), and the diagnostic system is not working.
I would be very grateful for any tips!
Greetings. |

Hello,
Are there any errors stored in the other control units that would suggest communication problems?
In control units that communicate via the K-line, a control unit with a hardware defect can also disrupt communication with other units.

No communication errors. But on the K-line with the central locking control unit, the air conditioning is also connected, and I can't figure out how to access that either.
But why does the diagnosis on the other K-line only start when the engine is running? |

Check the operating voltage displayed in the measurement data blocks of the respective control units. Specifically, when the engine is off (if it doesn't work).
"In addition, please provide the bit rates that are briefly displayed in the upper left corner of VCDS during the connection setup, for example, 9587 for a control unit that communicates via K-Line at 9600 bits per second."

Okay, the engine has the code B 10240 on it.
There is no communication with the parking assist system in the control panel housing.
The CAN interfaces are input/output and operate in a two-wire configuration.
I'm going to replace the central vehicle control unit. |

Please wait before exchanging anything; I absolutely need additional data from other control units. You can also test it on other vehicles if you like.
