Hi everyone! I just remembered something, and maybe you can help me with it!

I was at Lake Wörthersee in 2002. I saw a 4.0 TDI there...
When I let off the gas, I heard a deep whistling or rumbling sound coming from the exhaust. I have a 3.0 TDI engine, specifically the 1Z model.
It would be interesting to see if it works for me too. When I asked him about it, he started rambling about something like exhaust backpressure. I have a Dual-Hartmann.
with a fake middle section. I have no idea what else I could do.

P.S.: He also said that it doesn't work on the 3-series (because of the turbocharger or something!). He had a side pipe on his car!

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!! (The sound is absolutely amazing!)

Best regards,
Markus.

Hi, I don't think that's possible with yours. My friend replaced all the catalytic converters on his 3-series, except for the final one, which is completely empty. It sounds more like a roar to me, like a jet engine. (But it's totally awesome.)
I just installed a complete Supersport Group A exhaust system on my car, and it sounds amazing! It has a really deep, throaty sound, and you can hear the turbo whistle, which is awesome! Unfortunately, it also doesn't have a TÜV certificate... icon_cry.gif

Hello!

There's a pipe from Supersprint that runs directly from the turbocharger all the way to the...
It's designed for the 110 hp TDI engine. It has a larger pipe diameter than the 90 hp version. If the flange fits the turbo, which is possible, you probably wouldn't have any fitting problems with the Hartmann exhaust. They are usually compatible with...
fabricated with a large pipe diameter and then processed by...
Adapter piece adapted to the upstream system.
I've never heard that sound before. And don't ask me about the TÜV icon_lol.gif.

Can you simply replace the stock exhaust on a TDI with pipes or empty mufflers, or do you need to adjust something or make other modifications?
I'm just asking, because it would probably sound really great on a 5-cylinder TDI as well... icon_lol.gif

Hi you!!

I drive a 4-series.

And when the engine is under load and I release the gas, you can hear a loud hissing sound, like you would hear in a WRC rally car.
I installed a complete Supersprint Group N exhaust system from the turbocharger (VTG) onwards.
Besides that, there's a newly optimized engine control unit (ECU) and fuel injectors for the 5-cylinder Caravelle engine.
Standard version: 90 horsepower / 210 Nm of torque.
Now it has 160 horsepower / 370 Nm of torque.

It's quite a sight when you're driving through the city and then you suddenly lift off the gas; people really look surprised, especially those driving gasoline cars.
