I finally managed to get my old Audi 80 B4 1Z (with approximately 220,000 km on the clock) running really well, thanks in no small part to your help (it took about 3 months of work and study). It's a modest car, with roughly 120 horsepower. I cleaned the intake channels (about 50% clogged), which required removing the cylinder head. Unfortunately, now I have a problem: the EGR valve is defective, and there's a crack in the pressure hose.
max 0.5 bar... LDA installed... (VAG-Com not yet ready)... etc.
Okay, now to my question: Does anyone know, like me, how to make my 5th gear (transmission code: BAA) last longer, or what parts are needed to achieve this?
'If you were to ask Volkswagen for a donation and they looked up in their computer which gears are used in which transmissions, they would definitely be able to find that information. They certainly did it for me.'
