Hello,
I once asked in the old forum if it might be possible to replace the 5-speed gearbox (EBF) in my Golf (81kW AHF) with a 6-speed gearbox.
'At the time, Rainer told me to get back to him and let him know how it was driving, because he thinks the gear ratio in the VW's engine/transmission combination is a bit too short.'
I decided to skip the one with the 6-speed transmission because of the high costs

.
'I'm getting a longer 5th gear installed on Monday, just like some others in this forum have done. I also got the part numbers for the two gears from the forum.'
If any of you are certain about something, like in this example:

If what Diesel Götte describes doesn't actually work, please let me know, because I'm not going to have my transmission disassembled unnecessarily.
Incidentally, the question about the speed of the VPE is misleading, as I was led astray by the two answers 'half the camshaft speed' and 'double the camshaft speed'... after all, the pump is connected to the timing belt for the camshaft drive

.
But the gear of the pump and the gear of the camshaft are both roughly the same size...
