Clutch Squeal: A3 Documentary (Solution)

Squeaking noises only occur in the upper portion of the clutch pedal travel when the clutch pedal is depressed.

Up to chassis number: 8L1A091087.

Cause:
The clutch pedal switch is rubbing against its mounting bracket or the contact surface on the clutch pedal.

Solution:
Check the clutch pedal switch for proper operation and, if necessary, lubricate the protruding end with polyurethane grease (G052 142 A2).
Note: The clutch pedal switch is designed for single use only. Repeated installation and removal of a switch will wear down the locking tab.
