Hello everyone!
I'm planning to replace my clutch this weekend! I already have all the parts, but I'm still missing the alignment tool for installation. Does anyone know what dimensions the alignment tool needs to be for a 1Z engine?
Best regards,
Wolfgang.
P.S.: Passat Variant 1994, model 1Z.

I always use the 'universal socket.' It's a 1/2-inch extension wrapped with...
Use electrical tape until the diameter is correct.
Best regards,

'Thank you, that's a good idea!'
Unfortunately, I have a much bigger problem: I just can't get the transmission out! I've tried everything possible (lowering/raising the engine, tilting the engine,...), but I still can't get that darn thing out. It either gets stuck on the differential or somewhere else! Is there any trick to this?
Thank you in advance for your help!

I found something else and sent it to you via email.
Maybe it will help.
Best regards, Rudi.

Sure, here's the translation:
'Hi Rudi!'
Thank you so much for your email! The instructions you sent me worked wonders. There was just one small detail missing (don't lower the engine, just move it forward!), but that was it! After about a week of tinkering, I finally replaced my clutch!! And now the car responds nicely to the accelerator again!
Although I enjoy doing things myself, I would advise anyone considering changing their clutch themselves to think twice about it: It's really a terrible job! Furthermore, good planning and, above all, having a second person helping you is absolutely necessary! It's almost impossible to do alone!!!
Best regards.
Wolfgang.
