Golf III AFN: Power Loss Troubleshooting

Hello,

I have a Golf with a 110 HP TDI engine. It has been smoking heavily for some time, and after a while, it suddenly loses power, as if the engine's performance is being electronically reduced. When it loses power, it also stops smoking. If you turn the ignition off and on again, it regains power and starts smoking again, but only for a short time, until the power is needed, for example, when overtaking or accelerating.
The LLM is fine.
VW detected an intermittent error related to the intake manifold pressure during diagnostics.

I'm at a loss as to what could be causing this problem. Has anyone else experienced something similar, or does anyone have any advice?
