Hello.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to install Audi S4 brakes on a Bora (150 hp PD engine)? This would first require changing the bolt circle to 112. Is it possible to simply replace the wheel hubs? Will the wheel bearings fit? Does the caliper then fit onto the strut and over the brake disc? Are the hydraulic brake booster and master cylinder sufficient?

And what about the rear axle? Is it also possible to simply replace the wheel hubs there to achieve a 112mm bolt circle? Does the original brake caliper fit onto the S4 brake disc, or should I use the S4 caliper instead?

'Is there a potential change in the estimated time?'

What does the TÜV say about it?
Will ESP, ABS, etc. still function correctly?

Best regards,

Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

'Didl' is a German word that means 'a small amount of something.' It can be used to describe anything from a tiny speck of dust to a large pile of sand.

Here are some examples of how to use 'Didl' in a sentence:

* There was only a didl of sugar left in the jar.
* The children were playing with a didl of sand on the beach.
* He had a didl of money saved up for his trip.

I hope this helps!

Hello,

I work for the company that manufactures the brake system for the front axle of the RS4.
and delivers. In the case of the Bora, 17-inch rims would definitely be necessary.
So that the brake could even fit into the rim (at least with the original brake disc). The caliper bracket must have the correct spacing and hole pattern, etc.
The wheel rim's profile must also be compatible with the caliper, as the brake caliper utilizes every available space within the rim. Even a slightly too thick balancing weight in the wrong location can cause problems. The RS4 caliper has a 60mm piston; if the Bora has a smaller one, it could result in higher braking force on the front axle compared to before and relative to the rear axle. Additionally, factors like vibrations and resonant frequencies could significantly reduce comfort if you're unlucky, because the brake system was never specifically designed for the Bora. What I mean is: brakes are a very complex topic with hundreds of things to consider. I also don't know if the TÜV (German technical inspection authority) would approve something like this. Considering how many test reports are needed before our development manager signs off on road approval, I wonder how the TÜV will make its decision.

Best regards,

Frank.

Hello.

Thank you for your reply.

'There shouldn't be any problem with the rims, as they are 19 inches. Furthermore, the brakes on an S4 are likely smaller than those on an RS4. Perhaps even 16-inch rims would fit over them, right?'

As it turns out, the holes in the bracket for the S4 brake have a distance of approximately 150mm between them, while those on the Bora are about 120mm apart... so they definitely don't match.

What other options would there be to upgrade the brakes while also changing the bolt pattern to 5x112?

Best regards,
