ECU Compatibility: Does it Fit?

Hello everyone...

I have a Ford Galaxy, and I'm looking for a new engine control unit (ECU). Apparently, the one from the Sharan also fits. The part number VW 028 906 021 ES is supposedly only compatible with the Sharan/Galaxy/Alhambra, and you can't use one from an Audi, Golf, or Passat. Does anyone happen to know why the ECU from the Sharan/Galaxy/Alhambra is different from, for example, the one from a Golf?

Perhaps gear ratios and other similar parameters play a role in the identification fields.

I have a spare engine control unit (ECU) lying around that I took from a VW Vento or something similar. I even used it in a Passat 35i for a while without any problems. However, I subjectively felt that the car was a bit slower with it. If you like, I can send it to you for the cost of shipping. If it works with your Galaxy, we can agree on a price, otherwise you can send it back!
