Catalytic Converter Repair Kit

Hi,
Recently, my diaper started making a noticeable gurgling sound.
It was because the exhaust pipe was corroded right behind the catalytic converter.
Since I happened to have something suitable on hand, the damage was quickly fixed.
I noticed on the old KAT (presumably a location or object) that the monolith still looks very good.
and is also securely held in its bracket.
The enclosure itself is also in good condition.
Actually, it's a shame to throw it away.

The question now is whether there are ready-made repair kits for something like that.
I was thinking about a piece of pipe with a flange and...
second matching flange piece that is welded to the catalytic converter.

I'm afraid something like that probably doesn't exist for the purpose of generating revenue! Perhaps it's from a third-party or fifth-party provider.

But with a little bit of material and maybe some welding, I think we should be able to make something out of it!

I've heard about these damages after the cataclysm and about terribly expensive repairs!!! }

The costs (materials only) are approximately 600 EUR, including the 'fairy tale tax' .

If I understand correctly, the pipe is bent on the outlet side, right after the catalytic converter. I also experienced that problem during the summer.
I simply cut off the weld seam on the exhaust pipe, welded in a new piece of pipe, and trimmed it to fit. Then I reattached everything securely with double clamps to the rest of the exhaust system, and the repair was complete. The cost for a straight section of exhaust pipe with the correct diameter from Bosal was about 30 euros, plus approximately 20 euros for the new double clamp (long version).
Or do you mean something else?

You're on the right track.

I can slide the remaining piece into the KAT.
The repair pipe would have to be tightly coiled.

Hi Rudi,

After I removed the original weld bead from the catalytic converter, I was able to slide the pipe into the catalytic converter. Logically , there was about 3mm of clearance all around. We then tack-welded it in two places, perfectly aligning the catalytic converter and the new pipe, and then fully welded it all the way around. So far, everything is working fine, and it looks better than original .
