Hi,
Last year, conveniently while I was on vacation, the brake warning light started flashing.
At home, I immediately bought new pads and got to work. The intended weak point in the pad was still completely intact! However, the wiring inside the pad was damaged. The pad thickness was approximately 4-5mm. Since I was already there, I decided to install the new pads anyway.
Here we go again. This time, I'm going to bridge the gap.
Brake pads may be a classic wear item, but this is clearly a manufacturing defect.
Have you ever experienced something like this before, and perhaps even successfully filed a complaint?
Yeah, I've heard of this before. Complaints never went anywhere; it was always dismissed as 'state of the art.'
But 4mm is quite thin, and the contact plate or brake disc will soon become visible.
I wouldn't bridge the gap; what's the cost of such materials compared to reliable braking performance?
Hi,
That is a word. At least I don't feel so alone with it .
I'm not worried about the braking performance; in the past, I also had to think about the thickness of the brake pads myself.

I'm not worried about the braking performance; in the past, I also had to think about the pad thickness all by myself...
Furthermore, there is also an acoustic warning signal that sounds when the minimum layer thickness is exceeded .
