Golf 4 Steering Column for Golf 3

Hello!
Does anyone know if I can install the steering column from a Golf 4 into my Golf 3? Or is it completely incompatible? Because I've already installed the entire dashboard from a Golf 4. Now I want to have the steering stalk switches from the Golf 4, but also, the steering column cover from the Golf 4 doesn't fit on the Golf 3 steering column. It would be great if you could help me with this!
