Hello,

VW uses self-adhesive foam tape to secure the cable harnesses. According to the VW dealer, this part is not available for individual purchase.
Does anyone know if it's possible to get the band after all?
"Or what alternatives are available?"
I've already tried testing Tesa sealing tape from the hardware store, but that stuff isn't heat-resistant, and after a while, the adhesive only sticks very poorly.
Gruss Oliver.

Hello,
If it's not available in the visible light spectrum, you can use insulating fleece from the heating and plumbing sector. It's also heat-resistant, as it's used in heating pipes, for example. The adhesive power is fantastic. However, there is one disadvantage to this approach. The material is either gray or made from textile scraps.

Best regards, Andy.

Hi,

Thank you for the tip. I'm going to take a look at this.
Since it's located under the dashboard anyway, the color doesn't really matter.
Gruss Oliver.
