Hello,
I would like to know how to solve the following problem:

On a Passat Variant TDI (66 kW, manufactured in 1994, 1.9L engine, 245,000 km), after replacing the immobilizer, the horn and the side marker lights stopped working... it's strange that both of them stopped working at the same time.

Error memory is clear, fuses are also okay, connections are working.
Okay, the horn isn't getting any power, and the fog lights aren't working either... everything else seems to be functioning.

It would be really great if you could help me!!! icon_wink.gif

What exactly was renewed by the WFS?

It's probably just a loose connection somewhere.
It's best to take another close look at the area that was disassembled.

Hello Martin,

At the workshop, the engine control unit (ECU) was replaced because the engine shut off while driving. Since then, everything was fine... until now, except for the horn and fog lights.

'Because you said there was a loose cable... I pretty much exposed all the cables on the bike last Friday and checked everything (starting from the handlebars, through the light switch, all the way to the fuse box)... everything is where it should be. Also, the horn works when I apply power.'

CU.

icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif I once spent weeks troubleshooting a similar issue on my Jetta, and it turned out to be "just" the ground cable connected to the steering gear. Perhaps a ground strap was "forgotten" during assembly.

Perhaps the bridge or the relay (in the case of two horns) has become disconnected from the ZE (Zündanlage - ignition system).

I would continue the search there, as the 'ZE' is 'in the middle,' and that immediately tells you which direction to search next.

Unfortunately, I don't have a booking schedule for your ZE (electric vehicle). However, the following might also apply to your vehicle:

The relay switches the ground connection and is also controlled using the ground connection!

Thanks, Martin! The wiring diagram for the Golf 3 is 'similar.' I was able to fix my problem.
