We had an Opel in the workshop some time ago, which had an EDC15M engine control unit and was experiencing a loss of power during acceleration.

The error code in the system's memory read: 'Exhaust gas recirculation system deviation.'

After deleting the file, the error didn't reappear for a few days. Unfortunately, I don't know if it came back after that.
Interestingly, this error kept occurring constantly for weeks before the deletion.

Our suggestion was actually the LMM.

Has anyone ever encountered such an error message before?
If so, how did you permanently remove it?

...could it be that you have blocked the AGR valve? Search here in the forum; this has already been discussed in relation to a VW TDI.

Oops, you might be right about the mass airflow sensor (MAF). Do you have the possibility to swap it with an identical sensor from another vehicle? Can you determine which manufacturer produced the MAF? If so, are there any tricks to drive a short distance without the sensor installed?

Do you have the possibility to swap vehicles with a similar one?

No, unfortunately not.

It was impossible to identify the manufacturer without removing the part.
But if it helps, I'll try to find out the manufacturer.

Check out the forum; Ulf has already built quite a few things there, and many others have also posted good results.

The error reappeared after a few days.

So, we replaced the LMM.

Since then, there have been no more problems.

... (exactly which type of engine was it?) ...

Unfortunately, I don't know that.

Did the DIA lamp possibly light up intermittently?

The 'malfunction light' on the EDC has already come on.
Then the engine also lost power.
