Hello.

I recently acquired an Audi A4 V6 TDI with 120 kW and 350 Nm of torque. I really like the idea of "10-cent tuning" and would like to implement something similar for this engine. Chip tuning is too expensive for me. Today, I looked for the location of the diesel temperature sensor. However, I gave up after partially disassembling the pump control unit and decided to ask for your advice first. I'm essentially looking for a performance increase that kicks in at engine speeds above 3000/3500 rpm, especially when using full throttle. The rest is fine; performance above 200 km/h is important. A full throttle signal, if that gives you an idea, could be implemented as a switch under my accelerator pedal. The rest is up to your expertise.
Thank you in advance for any helpful information.

Best regards from Nuremberg icon_question.gif icon_question.gif.

"That doesn't sound good at all. While I don't have major problems soldering SMD components and other things on and off, modifying a new control unit seems too risky to me. It's still a "new" device."
Having delved deeply into the topic of diesel tuning lately, I'm starting to think that chip tuning seems to be the only solution.
Apparently, everything is much easier with the VP37 compared to mine? Or is there a way to outsmart the Audi and Bosch people?

Hello Manfred,
You wrote that the control unit is still new. Therefore, the car can...
It shouldn't be too old either, and it probably won't cost three euros and fifty.
to have been approved.
If you're already making investments like these and want more performance,
you should also consider the cost of a decent chip (with a warranty, if possible).
left over for the vehicle and ABE/TÜV registration).

Best regards, Rudi.

Okay, and let's break in the car first... the cylinder walls (piston sleeves) are still practically brand new for the first 10,000 km. icon_wink.gif

Great answers, but they don't really help me much.
Unfortunately, I had to get a diesel due to the high fuel costs. I would have preferred a 3.0 i A4. It would definitely be able to easily reach 250 km/h. And it would certainly be exciting in the higher RPM range. While a diesel provides good power between 1500 and 3000 RPM, it's pretty boring above that. At first, you feel like a king, but then the engine runs out of breath, and you just want to hide.

I'm not giving up yet. So, does anyone know of any other good deals?

There is nothing inexpensive when it comes to the VP44 injection pump.
