Hello,
Can someone please help me?
I would like to know if the 1V engine (60 hp, catalytic converter, small turbo) is the same as the JR engine (70 hp, turbo), or if it's the same block with the same bearings and without oil injection under the pistons, like the 54 hp engine without a turbo?

To the best of my knowledge, the block is identical and also features piston cooling.
Unlike the 51 kW TDI engine, the ESP version lacks the LDA (boost pressure enrichment system), and it uses a different turbocharger. It's also possible that the engine has an exhaust gas recirculation system, but I don't recall for sure. The 44 kW version of the 1.6 TDI was marketed as an "eco" diesel, meaning it had particularly low emissions. Unfortunately, this wasn't reflected in lower tax brackets (emission-related tax classes were only introduced after the production of this engine variant), so you pay the same taxes as any other 1.6 TDI.

Thank you for the quick response.
I wanted to see if it's worth trying to get the engine running a little better, or if it's just going to break down on me immediately  .
Does anyone happen to know what the turbocharger boost pressure is for the 1V engine?
Is it worth installing a low-pressure coolant system (LLK) without also changing the turbocharger (possibly to one with a different design), or is the pressure drop too high compared to the power gain, effectively negating any benefit?

You can also increase the boost pressure on your turbo if it drops too much due to the air filter. In my case, it only decreased by 0.1 bar, which didn't negate the gain from the denser air. If you drive carefully, you can achieve a significant power increase simply by adjusting the fuel flow screw, even without increasing the boost pressure! However, as mentioned before, avoid full throttle at low RPMs in that case!

If you manually adjust the pressure to a higher level at the control valve, it will release through a pressure relief valve. However, this can be sealed off using a piece of hose, a screw, and two hose clamps  .
Back around the year 1990, I bought one of those. And, it was even exempt from vehicle tax because its emissions were low enough according to the regulations.
That's how my passion for diesel engines began.

How do the exhaust emissions change if I tamper with the ESP (Electronic Stability Program)?
First, I'm only installing the LLK (likely referring to a specific component), and then I'll install a different ESP (Electronic Stability Program) with a different control module.
Do I need to reinstall everything for the main inspection (does the LLK come out again for the TÜV  )?
How do you properly configure the ESP (Electronic Stability Program)? What parameters can be adjusted (e.g., boost pressure)? Will Bosch calibrate the pump for me, or does anyone in the Bielefeld area have experience with this?
I initially planned to increase the boost pressure using the new ESP.

Hello,
Increasing the power output isn't a problem for your engine. However, in addition to the disadvantages already mentioned, the transmission has a shorter gear ratio. This might be good for acceleration races, but it's not ideal for normal use. Overall, the 44kW engine is the least suitable option for performance upgrades (LST) within the 1.6-liter range, excluding the naturally aspirated version.
A boost pressure of 0.9 bar is likely suitable, along with an increase in fuel injection volume. Your ESP can also be fitted with a cylinder head from an ESP that is designed for boosted engines.

While the page refers to the third-generation Golf, the development progress from the 1.6-liter engine is almost negligible.
However, when it comes to the LST (likely referring to a specific vehicle or engine type), there's nothing better than getting a RA engine (59 kW / 80 hp). Of course, this would be as part of a complete vehicle. The engine already has an intercooler and a lean-burn enrichment system, and it is also equipped with higher-quality pistons and bearings, etc.
With a low-pressure ratio (LD) of 1.2 bar and good electronic stability program (ESP) tuning, it's certainly possible to achieve 90 kW. This would also result in performance levels that justify the effort involved.
The data provided refers to my personal experiences with a 1.6 TD JR engine. I have now driven over 400,000 km, of which 350,000 km were with LST (likely referring to a specific fuel system or modification). The power output, as measured on a Bosch dynamometer, is approximately 80 kW. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h takes about 10 seconds. Furthermore, the power delivery is very smooth and sporty, unlike the jerky feel of an 85 kW PD-TDI engine. Also, check out this forum; someone there has a similar car running at 1.2 bar (likely referring to turbo boost pressure).
With the traction control (AS), there are no issues because the electronic stability program (ESP) must be set to 'early' to achieve the desired performance. Additionally, the engine only accelerates against the inertia of the moving parts and is then regulated down at maximum RPM.
A Bosch service will likely not be able to help you. Dealing with them is only frustrating, and thankfully, German law requires a firearms license, which is a good thing.
But do some research first. With a bit of technical aptitude, installing a Large Screen TV on a 1.6-inch screen is no longer a problem today.

I really wanted to build a rotary engine, but I already have a 1V engine and now also an intercooler (not a standard part, I'll have to put something together myself).
I've also considered lowering the head on the ESP engine, but I thought it might not be a good idea. The reverse would definitely work (I've already done it - Passat TD ESP with a head from a T2 D). It's easier to slow down something fast than to make something slow go faster, especially when considering the ESP system. But I still have one of those heads (unfortunately, it was leaking).
Okay, so: LLK (likely referring to an intercooler), alternative ESP head, boost pressure increase, increase fuel injection volume (possibly with a tuning cone for the ESP).
I looked at the page some time ago and thought it was quite good.
First, I'm still looking for a complete sports suspension kit, and then I'll install the rest.

The fuel injection pump has an adjustment screw, which can be identified by...
"Verblombt" is  just a matter of twisting it in slightly, but not much, about a quarter turn is good.

Then, attached to the intake manifold, there is a pressure relief valve with a hose connector for overpressure situations.
Just close it off; if you have a catalytic converter from a Passat, that might fit there.
"No knock," meaning that you can achieve the same boost pressure without adjusting the turbocharger itself, simply by increasing the barometric pressure."
And just like that, you have a real racing machine; I've even clocked it at 185 km/h on the speedometer.
Successfully completed and even exceeded expectations.
Oh yes, by adjusting the pump, you automatically get a high idle speed.
"So, don't be surprised if it already has a speed well above 1000 RPM; that's the regulation setting."
By the way, the speed is also increasing significantly.
"The engine's lifespan naturally decreases significantly; mine almost failed on me once."
He drove it on the highway, but after that he didn't drive it much anymore, although it lasted for a good 60,000 kilometers.
