Hello,

I've been experiencing minor starting issues for a few months, both with a warm and cold engine. In the cold state, it starts immediately as soon as I turn the ignition on for about 2 seconds, and then starts. When the engine is warm, I always need to wait a little longer for it to start (about 3-4 seconds).

No fault codes are stored.

Mileage: 36000 km

What could it be ??? icon_rolleyes.gif

Best regards, Bernd icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif

Hi

Hopefully, it's not the old TDI disease with the gradually loosening KW (Krieger) timing belt tensioner icon_sad.gif.

In some TDI systems, the initial amount seems to be a bit insufficient for some reason. If, then, the starter speed decreases over time (wear and tear / old battery), it takes longer and longer to start.

The 2-second warm-up time seems strange to me, especially during this time of year, and I haven't been able to find an explanation for it.

Hello Ulf,

so, I think the KW coilover thing is probably not true anymore, because the problem would probably still exist even after the 2-second waiting time.

But the initial amount seems more realistic to me, do you know how to adjust it?

Best regards,

Hello,

Now I still need the necessary diagnostic tool.
Can someone tell me what the best way is, since I have a laptop but unfortunately it doesn't have an RS232 interface, but only USB and FireWire.

Greetings
