Hello,

I've already bought winter tires for my new Sharan.

http://www.aschauer.cc/images/forum/felge.jpg

The only thing I don't like about the rim is the (Ford) logo.

Now I've noticed that both the rim and the hubcap have a VW part number on them. Specifically, these are the following numbers:

Rim 7M5 601 025 8
Lid 7M5 601 149 A

Did (or does) VW also offer this rim?
When was it installed?
Is there perhaps also a VW cap available?

Thank you for your help.

Wolfgang.

A hyphen is incorrectly placed. Like this: / instead of like this \ please! icon_wink.gif

Unfortunately, I don't recognize that rim.

I don't think there's anything unusual about it. They probably came from a Ford Galaxy (is that what it's called?). It's basically the same as a Sharan anyway.
Just take the part numbers and go to VW. Let's see if they even have those parts. If they do, they probably also offered those rims for the Sharan, but with a VW logo.

"...to be honest, just leave the hubcap off... the hubcaps for VW models (the ones with a cover) are almost all the same size. The ones from my Golf also fit on my Passat. But these things cost just as much as a steel wheel!"

@matthiasTDI96: If they were actually that expensive, that would be amazing!

I paid €180 for 4 rims with tires, including shipping.
Then I might try using a sticker after all.

I don't know the exact price. A neighbor once had the hubcaps stolen from his ordinary Audi wheels. He still drives with those missing hubcaps because he says they are supposedly so expensive to replace.
But if in doubt, it's always a good idea to ask.

I assume it's USED? Otherwise, I'd also like the dealer's address, lol.

@Eiweisszwerg: Yes, I bought it on eBay.

By the way, even though the number is formatted in the VW style.
It apparently isn't a VW part number.

It's probably clear that the part number looks like a VW part number, considering that they manufacture the Sharan and the Galaxy on the same production line, and therefore use many of the same parts. However, Ford will use different part numbers than VW, at least for certain items like wheels. I can't imagine a local VW dealer selling you a part with the Ford logo on it.

Hello Matthias,

I knew that I wouldn't be able to get the cap with the (Ford) logo from VW, and I'm not even looking for it.
It's funny that the cap has Ford, Seat, and VW part numbers on it. And since it's made of two parts (an inner plastic part with the numbers and an outer aluminum part with the emblem), I was hoping there was a similar cap available with a VW emblem.
I believe that the fact that a part, which is only supposed to be used by Ford, also has VW and Seat part numbers cannot be explained by the shared manufacturing of the vehicles.
