Hi,

I wanted to buy a replacement mass airflow sensor (MAF) at my trusted Audi service center. The nice gentleman behind the counter understood what I was looking for and offered me a new version for around €240 plus VAT, or a used/remanufactured version for €75 plus VAT. Nothing really surprising about that.

He has a problem: he can see the replacement part on his monitor, but he can't order it. Did the Audi technician not pay attention during the last training session, or is it actually impossible to purchase the AT-LMM (Air Temperature Mass Air Flow sensor) from Audi?

Thank you for your tips.

I have no idea! But it should be the same part for the AFN engine in VWs. Just try finding it somewhere else!

I also considered VW, but with Audi, I get a percentage discount.

10% on 240 is still significantly more to pay than 0% on 75! or ??? just don't act like that and hide the dollar signs in your eyes! icon_razz.gif icon_razz.gif

Hello,

The parts for €75 are not expected to be available until the end of February. Until then, when purchasing from a spare parts dealer (VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda), the old price of approximately €240 applies.

However, if the mass airflow sensor is defective (within the extended warranty/goodwill period) and you claim it, and have it repaired at the workshop, the cost of the replacement will only be €75, minus any applicable goodwill allowance.

'I don't fully understand it either, but that's how it was explained to me by the Volkswagen service department.'

I was at the Volkswagen dealership a week ago.

"What is the cost of an LMM for a 1Z?"

"88 EUR"

"Is this the AT part that used to be so expensive?"

"Yes, that's the one. There's only one option for a 1Z."

So, everything should be clear now – at least for my car with my Volkswagen dealer...

However, they are known to be very different (see statements about the boost pressure control valve N75 - everyone seems to have a different opinion on that).

Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation.
