Hab heute meinem AFN ne` neue Ventildeckeldichtung sowie neue Dichtungen für die Ventildeckelschrauben und die Kurbelgehäuseentlüftung spendiert. NaI'm currently...
'There was quite a bit of oil that came out of it at 191,000 km! So, I removed the valve cover and cleaned everything thoroughly. The inside looked great, with no oil sludge and no visible signs of wear on the camshaft and lifters. Then I installed the new gaskets!'

To my surprise, I then noticed that the oil pressure at idle is now exactly 2 bar! The oil temperature is 84°C. Before, it was always around 1.4-1.6 bar! Since I have an oil pressure gauge, I can easily read these values at any time.

Could a slight leak in the valve cover cause the pressure to drop that much?
While it's still within the acceptable range, it's definitely a noticeable difference!

What do you think?

Hi, your new oil likely has a higher viscosity at the measured oil temperature...

It's definitely not the poetry! Also, check the oil (or maybe you left a rag in there while cleaning......just kidding!!!) icon_lol.gif

'Umm, I only changed the seals, not the oil! And all the rags are still here! Hmm, I'll keep an eye on it.'

Oops, sorry, I also thought the oil would be new! That's why it's quite strange, because the valve cover area isn't under full oil pressure!!!!
