Hello everyone,
I drive a 1.9 TDI, manufactured in March 1994, and I have the following error code (00527) in the engine control unit. Unfortunately, I can't really do much with this information, or I'm facing the problem that, starting in 1993, this sensor is likely located in the control unit.

What can I do to precisely locate the error? Do I need to remove the control unit?

Does the error number xyz have the same name as the heading?
The intake manifold temperature sensor (G72) is located in one of the long black pipes in the Golf 3.

The error is:

Please provide the text you would like me to translate from German to English.
00527 - Intake air temperature sensor (G72)
29-00 - Short circuit to ground.
Please provide the text you would like me to translate from German to English.

I will also check my "pipes" again, but according to "Jetzt helfe ich mir selbst" (Now I'll help myself), this sensor is located in the control unit for automatic transmissions and, since '93, also for manual transmissions icon_sad.gif icon_confused.gif.

The intake manifold TEMPERATURE is in the PIPE - it can't be anywhere else icon_smile.gif.

The sensor for intake manifold PRESSURE is in the control unit.

I specifically re-read the original VW repair manual. Until 1994, the pressure sensor was a separate component.

The G72 is definitely the best thing on the market!

Okay, thanks. I actually found the sensor under the mass airflow sensor, and the connector was full of water! Sure, a short circuit is bound to happen - which just proves that the control unit was right again icon_redface.gif.

Huh???

Under LMM ???

What kind of engine do you have?

Because the LMM is, above all else, the first thing that comes into contact with the air.

"By 'unterm', I meant that I had to reach into the engine compartment with my hand from above, and the sensor was located 10 cm below the MAF sensor (when viewed vertically)."

I have the 1Z, but it's designed differently in the Audi 80 (1.9 TDI, manufactured in 03/94) compared to, for example, the Golf 3.

Hello,

Okay, I have a Passat TDI, manufactured in November 1993, with a 1Z engine. The error log on my device also shows this error entry.

So, I got a new sensor. He is sitting in the same position as the person in the golf picture above.

The error is still not being deleted.
Okay, I checked the connector and cables, at least the ones in the engine compartment. The battery was removed because the wiring harness continues in that area, etc.
nothing to find.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Or perhaps a wiring diagram so I can actually trace the cable?

Best regards,
