Hi Rainer,

I browsed through your shop again yesterday and couldn't find the USB professional adapter that automatically unlocks VAGCOM anymore.

Did you hide him somewhere, or am I just not seeing it, or did you remove him from the program?
If the latter: Why?
Gruß Ulf

Hi Ulf,

I have temporarily removed the item from the product range because the RS232 version is selling much better.
In the future, there will be a more affordable hobby version with a USB interface. If there is sufficient demand, I will also reintroduce the USB professional version (time works in favor of USB).

Best regards, Rainer.

There probably isn't a cheap "hobbyist" version available yet.

Hi,

No, the cheaper version is not yet available. However, the offered USB professional adapter has more features due to the built-in microcontroller, such as automatic baud rate detection and a built-in VAG-COM dongle (no more licensing issues with crashed hard drives or switching computers).
Unlike the planned budget adapter version, the full VAG-COM software is also included.
For the targeted additional cost of approximately €120 compared to a USB hobby adapter plus a VAG-COM license, quite a bit is actually offered. icon_smile.gif
Unfortunately, I still can't give you a date for the release of the USB hobby adapter; I currently have too many ongoing projects. icon_confused.gif

Best regards, Rainer.

Good things take time. icon_wink.gif
But the other one is simply not financially feasible icon_sad.gif.

I'm sorry to be so blunt, but I was wondering if it would be possible to integrate the dongle into a cheaper serial adapter? I'm just curious. *g*

Best regards, WarLord.

Greetings, WarLord
.
Certainly, but why would Uwe Ross do that (program and sell dongles)?
Just take a look at how much a standard dongle costs; you'll quickly find yourself spending around 50 euros.
The difference between the professional-grade KKL adapter and the ready-made KL device isn't just in the dongle.
- Fast and secure synchronization through an integrated microcontroller.
- Turbo mode for EDC16 and ME7 engine control units.
- Fully automatic K1/K2 switching.
- Optical fault indication for diagnostic cables.

Best regards, Rainer.

Something like that would definitely intrigue me. I probably wouldn't change the unlock code (especially if I ever get another laptop).

Best regards, WarLord.
