Hello,
This is a:
VAG 2.5 TDI V6
MKZ: AFB
Mileage: 91,000 km
Powerbox by Cartronic www.dieselchip.de
I have insufficient compression pressure in all six cylinders and overpressure in the KG:
Here are the data for all cylinders.
1. 18.4 bar
2. 17.5 bar
3. 17.7 bar
4. 18.2 bar
5. 17.6 bar
6. 17,8 bar
Measured using VAG 1381 and VAG 1763 multiple times
Crankcase pressure: 271 mbar - normal 5 mbar
My question:
My dealer told me that the pistons are worn and a new engine is needed.
Does this low pressure result from wear on the piston, and could this be possible at this level of usage, or could there be another cause for the low pressure?
It should be noted that the {PRESSURE} in the KG was excessively high, and there was {SMOKE} in the exhaust.
see the following thread:
/viewtopic.php?t=2924&highlight=druck+kurbelgeh%E4use
Thank you for your help.

Where are the wear values for the engine located (I unfortunately don't have access to them)? The engine has a compression ratio of 19:1 (as far as I remember). I would describe these values as being almost normal.
A difference of almost 1 bar is not critical.
Crankcase overpressure can also have other causes.
As Julian already said, I believe that excessive wear and tear for the mileage is not normal. Gruß Bertil

[Translating...]Also neu hat der etwa 27-33 bar Überdruck. Verschleißgrenze liegt bei 24bar, maximaler Unterschied 5bar/Zylinder. |

Hello Bertil,
Here's the translation:
The relationship between the compression ratio and the pressure value, and especially the difference of 1 bar, needs to be explained.
Best regards, Ben

I have not established a relationship between the compression ratio and (cold) compression pressure, therefore I inquired about the wear limits for compression pressure. Unfortunately, I only had the compression ratio in mind, and unfortunately, that doesn't really help with determining the compression pressure.
By "a difference of 1 bar," I mean the difference between the maximum and minimum measured values for each cylinder (e.g., from 18.4 bar to 17.5 bar) - I guess that wasn't clear. Sorry. Julian seems to have understood me perfectly . Gruß Bertil

However, Julian probably understood me correctly .
If I didn't exist....
The values are listed here in a workshop manual, for example, a PD_130 has a new pressure of 25-31 bar, and the wear limit is 19 bar.
The PD has a 19:1 ratio, and the V6tdi has a 18.5:1 ratio.

[Translating...]@All

Viel Erfolg! |
