Hello,
It's about an Audi 80 B4 manufactured in November 1991, with a 133 horsepower, 5-cylinder gasoline engine.
Although the car has a 2x2 pin diagnostic connector, no control unit can be accessed.
The pursuit of the K-Line led to nothing.
Does anyone have any ideas, or is it even possible to diagnose the car, despite the connector?
Best regards, Rainer.

As far as I know, it's a KE Jetronic system.
There's not much to diagnose.
What problems does this item have?

If it's a KE-Jetronic system, the engine control unit doesn't support 'fast data transfer,' so a VAG-COM diagnostic tool (which uses technology from around 1985) won't be able to communicate with the control unit. I've personally had a few vehicles with KE-Jetronic. You actually only need a multimeter and a fuel pressure gauge to perform all the diagnostics. (Okay, and a repair manual.)

Hi,
The KE-Jetronic system used blink codes. By shorting the corresponding contacts, the engine check light would flash Morse code. I can check the Audi 100 Type 44 repair manual for specific details if needed. Gruß Christian

Hi,
Okay, so that clarifies things, thank you all! Unfortunately, I can't say anything about the problem. Perhaps the owner will comment on this later.
Best regards, Rainer.

Hi, where did you get the diagnostic connector from? I also had one before, and it worked with the diagnostic system; it was also a 91 model, but with a 2-liter Monojetronic engine.
Question for everyone else: Why does he have a diagnostic connector if it's not supposed to be used for reading error codes?

Good question... next question please .
No idea, I don't have access to the car (it's not mine).
Best regards, Rainer.
