Battery check with VCDS

In freezing temperatures, it's a good idea to check the battery's function before starting problems arise.

Many vehicles already have a battery management control unit, and with our VCDS, you can check the detailed condition of the vehicle's battery.

Besides the voltage (which is highly dependent on the specific consumers), it is also interesting to consider the "battery health," "battery aging," and "battery state of charge."

The "Energy Balance" indicator shows whether the battery was primarily charged (positive value) or discharged (negative value) during the last trip.

A low internal resistance allows for high starting currents with minimal voltage drop across the battery. A rapidly increasing internal resistance towards the end of a battery's lifespan often indicates that it is nearing the end of its useful life.
Typical values are in the range of a few milliohms, depending on the type and capacity of the vehicle's battery.
