Record of frugality - does anyone know the background?

One liter of fuel for 3140 km... unfortunately, no further information about the engine principle is available. Further down, a German vehicle is mentioned that can travel 1276 km on one liter of diesel.

What do you think - is that enough (lightweight construction + reducing losses), or could there be more expertise in the engine that could be interesting for us?

232 ccm Single-cylinder diesel engine with 4.2 hp, that's all there is to say about it...

Hi,

in the article also states that all energy suppliers, such as solar, are permitted.
At a maximum speed of 30-40 km/h and with a combined drive system of solar and diesel, the consumption should be achievable...

Wie war das so schoen... wer lesen kann, ist klar im Vorteil... den Teilsatz habe ich doch glatt uebersehen, weil es mich gleich zu den technischen Daten weiter unten gezogen hat

Da reine Solarautos solche Strecken unter guenstigen Umstaenden auch schaffen, sollte es mit einem Kombiantrieb wohl auch gehen, das ist dann wirklich wenig ueberraschend.
