Hey, does it damage the immobilizer transponder if the small spare key (the small black thing without a light, the key fob) comes into contact with water?

Thank you.

Olaf.

Hi Olaf,
Normally not, because the transponders are welded into glass tubes.
You can, therefore, tie the key to your swimming trunks without any worries and take it with you into the water icon_wink.gif.

Thanks, Rudi. So, the swimming season is saved! Because that was really annoying last year. Especially in countries like Portugal or other places where security isn't as high, you usually keep the car in sight, but you still prefer to lock it, so you have more time if someone gets too close to it. When the car is open, nobody will notice that there's an "unauthorized" person inside.

Regards,
Olaf.
