Climatronic Noise: Audi A4 B4 Interior Sensor Issue

Hello everyone,

I had to purchase a new interior temperature sensor for a hefty €150 two months ago because the fan in the old one was defective (it only turned on intermittently...).

Everything was going perfectly, but what's this noise I'm hearing now? Only in the morning, for about the first 3 minutes, there are slight scratching sounds coming from the small fan... then it stops and doesn't happen again all day. It sounds like something is lightly brushing against the fan blades.

I haven't taken it apart yet, but in my opinion, nothing should be interfering because I installed it properly. My theory is that the round magnet on the fan blade might be touching the coils... but somehow it should constantly be scraping if that were the case...?

'Does anyone have any ideas? Before I take my radio apart again and pull out all those cables, I'd like to hear your opinions... as I mentioned, when it's warmer, I don't hear anything and the fan works perfectly.'
