Hi everyone,

I need some advice on how to connect the intercooler to the intake manifold. I want to keep the G60 intercooler, but unfortunately, the connections don't fit like they do on a TDI.

The G60 LLK (charge air cooler) is located in the lower right front section of the engine compartment of the Corrado.

The two upper plastic tubes (where a sensor is located) are present, and the connections from those tubes to the intake manifold are also in place. Now, I need some way to connect 60 mm tubes or other material from those two tubes down to the intercooler.
What kind of material can I use for that, or who distributes such pipes?

Thank you for your help in advance.
Arne in the AFN_Corrado.

Hi Arne,

It would have been great to build a Corrado with a TDI engine, but I ended up getting a Golf III TDI GTI instead. icon_smile.gif

Regarding your problem:
The best option that comes to mind are the silicone hoses from 'SAMCO sport' (available at SANDTLER).
They are available as straight pieces, as well as 45°, 90°, and 135° elbows, and as reducers for almost any diameter (certainly for 60mm).
Advantage: The hoses are pressure-resistant, offer flexible adaptation, and are suitable for temperatures ranging from -50 to 200°C.

Have fun with the renovation.
I would like to see the results of your work sometime. icon_wink.gif

Regards,
Michael.

You could also check out isa-racing.de.
I hope I have the URL correct. Unfortunately, you have to buy the catalog because you can't see much online.

I have the one from 2001. If you email me what you need, I can take a look at it during the weekend.

They are probably the same hoses as in the Sandtler, but I have no idea which one is cheaper.

Hello,

How about using regular radiator hoses from a junkyard?
At least, in the case of the defective head gasket on my former G2 1.6D, the hoses were oil-resistant icon_wink.gif.
It would definitely be a cheaper alternative... as long as they don't dissolve in contact with oil, sooner or later.

Best regards, Rainer.

Thank you for your replies.

I used a universal 50mm exhaust pipe and cut it to the appropriate size.

'For the curves and corners, I used radiator hose from a T4. I had a few pieces left over.'

Under full load, a hose keeps coming off, but I'm working on fixing that.

See you later.
Arne.
