Speedometer Problems Volkswagen Golf 3

Hi everyone.
Unfortunately, I had to replace the transmission (T4) in my Golf 3 because a tooth was broken. I now have an S4 transmission in it, and it drives great.
Okay, so here's my problem: I installed the old electronic speedometer sensor, and after a short drive, it got damaged because it didn't fit properly and got stuck.
My problem is that the 4-speed automatic transmission is only designed for a mechanical speedometer cable, not for an electronic sensor. Does anyone know if there's a conversion kit or something like that available? VW couldn't help me, stating that they couldn't read what I needed using their computer system. I hope someone has a tip for me.
