So,...
When I have an orgasm... sometimes it feels like...
'The clutch would slip! If I pressed the clutch pedal 2-3 times...'
'It's making a 'pumping' sound when idling, then it goes away!' If I understand correctly, my V6 TDI (manufactured in 2000) has a hydraulic clutch... could there be a pressure issue? I've checked all fluid levels... (brakes, power steering, oil... everything is okay). Does anyone else experience this?

Thank you all... this forum is truly invaluable!

M.

Hi Rainer, ...

Don't think I'm crazy, but sometimes the clutch engages very abruptly... not me, but the clutch itself. Then there's a muffled 'thump!'

Okay,... this might not belong in this thread,.... but you gave me some advice because my TDI is making a clacking noise,........ I went to another workshop today,........ their assessment was: It's not normal, but it can't be properly localized,........ so we'll just wait and see if it gets worse! Great answer icon_confused.gif.

Is the clutch slipping? Or is your entire engine/transmission wobbling due to faulty engine mounts or loose mounting bolts? That could also explain the "clacking" sound.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hi Rainer,

I can't really describe the noise; it's like a 'clunk'! As I said, the clutch engages very abruptly with a clacking sound... It's hard to explain. But the idea about checking the screws is good! I'm just not sure how I'm going to get to them, though, because the engine bay is so cramped. Could it be the motor mounts? But surely not at only 38,000 km (miles)?
