Hello,
"In my 1Z, the old small pressure sensor is broken. Here in the forum, it's always mentioned that instead of the small one, you should install a larger one. From which vehicle is the larger sensor?"
The larger pressure vessel is only beneficial if the VTG (Variable Turbine Geometry) of the turbocharger is difficult to operate.
You have a wastegate turbocharger! In my opinion, it's not very effective in that case.
Thanks... I have a wastegate turbocharger, but the mechanics of the pressure sensor are stiff and sticking! I'm left with only two options: either replace the sensor or try to clean it thoroughly! Are there any experiences or reports available regarding cleaning a pressure sensor or its mechanical linkages?
Hello!
I also occasionally experience the problem of a stuck wastegate valve in my own vehicle.
I always help myself by doing the following:
1) Use a large syringe (at least 50 ml).
2) Disconnect the hose from the pressure sensor to the N75 valve.
3) 1. The person presses firmly on the syringe plunger, forcing fluid into the tube.
4) The second person sprays graphite oil onto the valve of the wastegate.
and gently press down on it with a suitable tool (e.g., a wooden slat).
until the part moves freely.
5) One person then pumps at least 50 times (with assistance).
'...from Person 2), so that the full range of motion can be achieved again.'
It usually works well until a harsh winter with a lot of salt comes along, and the vehicle sits unused for an extended period.
