Hello!

Laut VW muss das ATF wohl nie getauscht werden... If I go with...
but the pictures at http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1064342&page=1
Looking at them (and these are just gasoline-powered cars), I can't help but think about diesel engines.
First and foremost, doubts...

Should I change the ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) at the next long-life service (approximately 60,000 km)?
Can I exchange it?

Regards,

Peter.

The change is definitely planned for when I reach 60,000 miles/kilometers.

The 'life-time' filling is only valid if you assume a lifespan of 150,000 km. icon_confused.gif

Is your question not clearly answered by the images?

Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

Actually, yes - I was thinking that if there are any 1.8T gasoline engines...
"It seems like something out of a country with speed limits, but that won't be the case with mine."
Diesel-Wiesel from the BAB (Autobahn) should definitely not be better icon_wink.gif...

Unfortunately, the images only apply to the older 4G automatic transmission, which uses Tiptronic.
Unfortunately, the "bottom" pan can no longer be removed (as it appears to be fixed in place).
Unfortunately, it's not possible to access the front, so all that can be done is to drain the oil.
see this thread here:

It looks simple, so I'll try doing it myself.
before I have to use all my persuasive skills again with the nice person.
must, in order to be able to get rid of my money ("this is a never-ending expense!") icon_confused.gif

Regards,

Peter.

However, according to Geri from the Passat 3B forum, changing the oil without also changing the filter won't make much of a difference.

'By the way, I recently changed the transmission oil in our Passat with the manual transmission. The new oil looked lighter in color and didn't smell burnt. It also makes shifting easier now. It's supposed to be a lifetime fill: good for the entire lifespan of the transmission.'

Best regards, WarLord.

However, an oil change won't really achieve much without the filter.

However, with the Golf TT5 (which uses a Jatco transmission, not a ZF), you can't get away without...
Complete gearbox overhaul, connect it to the filter icon_sad.gif!

This company policy should ideally be implemented with the intention of...
to end the transmission's lifespan within the warranty period icon_twisted.gif icon_twisted.gif.

You have to be careful when handling the gearbox, hehehe. icon_wink.gif
