Girling part number 60

Hello!

Can anyone provide me with the part number for a Girling 60 brake caliper from an Audi S2 Coupe (1992)? Is it the same part number as used on the Audi 80 B4 2.8 V6?

I assume Girling is the manufacturer, and the number on the saddle is the Girling part number, or am I right?

I've upgraded my TDI with the Girling 60 braking system. Any questions for me?

Girling 60:
"60" actually means that the brake piston should have a diameter of 60mm, similar to the standard Girling 54 ventilated system. However, the Girling 60 is a dual-piston caliper. The two pistons together provide the same surface area as a single 60mm brake piston.
"Girling is the manufacturer of the saddle. I believe that company no longer exists; was it acquired by Lucas? Hmm. Please correct me if anyone knows."

To my knowledge, the Girling brake caliper had no markings other than "Girling 60." It also does not have a VAG part number on it.
There are only two versions of this seat: one for the Audi 90 20V, and then a version for all subsequent models. (The difference lies in the position of the brake hose connection).
The brake caliper for the S2 coupe is identical to that of the V6 B4.

Yes, I've also read that "Griling" is somehow related to Lucas. You're probably right about that.

Normally, you need to provide proof, usually through a number or some other identifier, that the saddle is the correct one; otherwise, it supposedly won't be registered. Would the inscription "Girling 60" be sufficient?

I actually have a second set of Girling60 brake calipers at home. My brother will get them in the spring.
Okay, it's true, there's another number involved. But somehow, it doesn't have anything to do with the VAG number...

Regarding the registration process, I would suggest contacting your local TÜV (technical inspection authority). They will certainly be able to tell you how they operate and what they require.
I might be able to get some copies of the Girling60 system entries from other Audis. However, I can't help you with that right now. You should try posting in Mecki's forum; there are people there who have had similar systems installed and registered.
