Since I have removed the diesel filter's drain, and as a result, the part is no longer completely sealed (especially at the bottom, and the VW engineers also haven't made it completely sealed), I'm interested in knowing what size wrench/socket is needed to get a replacement. Separating the filter from the spider should be quite simple, right? (just unscrew it or something)

Okay, the vehicle is a Passat 3B with a 115 PS PD engine.

Can anyone perhaps provide me with the part number for a new fuel filter?

Best regards, WarLord

Hello, this is a 13mm Allen wrench, but it also works with a 12mm one if the screw isn't too tight! icon_biggrin.gif

Well, hopefully they will also have it as a spare part. My car already looks a bit damaged.

But okay, then I'll get a 13mm wrench.

Hm, can someone quickly tell me how to separate the filter from the spider and whether it's a major mess?

In normal cases, it should come loose. The whole thing shouldn't really be so tightly connected. A little bit of diesel is also leaking out. But a suitable rag helps with that...
